Jolly Back celebrates at University of Derby Employer Engagement Awards

Our beliefs and values are about helping people be the best they can be. When we’re happy and healthy we’re better able to give to others!

We’re proud to work closely with the University of Derby Careers and Employment Service and strive to offer our intern undergraduates relevant, beneficial and fun placement opportunities which help develop themselves individually and for their future careers.

We were delighted to be nominated for the Employer Engagement Award 2019, especially since the University of Derby Careers and Employment Team work with many much larger and global organisations e.g. E.ON and PWC. It was most unexpected but we we very grateful!

Imagine our surprise when we received a Special Commendation! Our congratulations also go to Enterprise Rent-A-Car, who have also now been awarded “Best UK Undergraduate Training Programme” for 2 years running!

Jo Wheldon, Head of Career and Student Enterprise read:

“Lorna has recently recruited an intern through the DRIVEN project after previously going through the Derby Internship Programme. Throughout the whole process Lorna has been friendly, approachable and willing to go the extra mile. She gave detailed feedback after the interviews and offered the unsuccessful candidates other opportunities including work experience and paid work over summer. She has provided invaluable work experience for the two internship students and we have gained positive feedback from both students. Lorna also recruited a University of Derby graduate to manage her social media and marketing, which she has done so for the past year. Lorna is very engaged with the University, she is involved within the education curriculum and she frequently goes into classes and shares her expertise and gives an insight into her business. Lorna is always willing to attend events and get involved in any opportunities available. Jolly Back also sent a representative to the Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing forum to support the team as they develop an employer inclusion quality mark”.

Most of all, we’re so grateful and proud of our fabulous interns and sincerely wish each one of them well for their onward career. We hope they stay in touch too!
